Senior Membership Officer Global Membership Organisation Home Based – UK Wide – With some visits to London Basic Salary 36,000- 38,000 with excellent benefits Permanent, Full Time An excellent opportunity for a Senior Membership Officer to join a global Membership Organisation with 140 members across 80 countries around the world. If you are a membership professional with experience across membership, events and marketing for similar association, professional or trade body we would love to hear from you. Speaking a language would be advantageous particularly Spanish, French or Cantonese. The role of Senior Membership Officer To deliver, with colleagues, the objectives in line with the association’s strategy which is set by the board of directors.

Each Senior Membership Officer is responsible for core activities which are central to the function of the association. These include: Supporting groups of members, (currently defined by region) for their development, learning and to facilitate engagement with each other. In addition, it will involve maintaining and reviewing member’s data, information and status reports, managing membership fees, supporting new member recruitment and other member-related admin. Working with the Boards associated with that region as secretariat.

This will include board agenda and paper production, arranging and attending meetings, minute-taking and action follow up. Managing or supporting events – start to finish organisation and delivery of virtual and international in-person events (ranging from 20-300 attendees). Specialist/Common Interest Groups. Including facilitating and arranging events (virtual to start with), preparing supporting materials, identifying relevant content and promotion of events.

Maintaining our new processes and systems including: the integrity of our new database, administrative processes, the finance system and the events systems. Personal specifications Essential: 3-5 years’ experience in a member relations role within a professional association or in a related discipline such as member engagement, event management or marketing & communications. Proven ability to engage and cultivate B2B relationships with stakeholders at all levels and across diverse cultures. Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to adjust messaging as appropriate to suit the audience.

Experience in the planning and delivery of events and/or projects on time and on budget. A high level of digital literacy with experience in leveraging online communication platforms, information systems and other technology both internally and externally. Thrive working in a small team environment. Ability to multitask and juggle a variety of tasks at once.

A good lateral thinker where your ideas will have a positive impact on the value members derive from their membership. Possess an easy-going, confident and friendly personality, with a sense of humour.
