Reed in Partnership is a public service provider specialising in skills training for the long-term unemployed, increasing employment opportunities by working with employers and providing youth services. What the job is about: Education and Employment Advisers are the front line of Reed in Partnership. The main purpose of the role is to support 18-24 year olds who are at risk of becoming NEET – not in education, employment or training, engage with employers and make local communities aware of the benefits of our service.  There will be an element of group training, delivering to small groups of 2-3 participants.

Salary: 24,000 – 28,000 Full time, Permanent Location: You will split your time between our Willesden office and one of our outreach offices in London Your daily responsibilities would include: • Meeting and registering young people to the programme • Identifying young person’s goals, aspirations and challenges • Booking jobseekers to any relevant training courses including customer service, security, hospitality, personal development, IT literacy and many others • Supporting jobseekers with CV writing and job application process • Outreach work – visiting local job fairs, schools and shopping centres in order to promote RinP services What’s in it for you. Required Skills and Experience • Experience of working in a customer facing environment (i.

e. Customer Services, Hospitality, Customer Services, Sales) • Experience of working in a performance target driven environment • IT skills literacy and admin skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Willingness to travel locally (e. g. to meet customers/employers).

Desirable attributes Experience of working in a fast paced environment. Examples of such experience may include working as a Holiday Representative or Recruitment Consultant, etc. Experience of exposure to client groups. These client groups may include incapacity benefit claimants, single parents, those with criminal records, mental health groups, ex-services, specific ethnic minority or faith groups and those with specific disabilities.

Direct previous experience of a similar role. Roles considered to be similar include the role of Employment Adviser on a welfare to work contract or a publicly funded service. Degree or relevant qualification. Degree topics may include psychology, sociology, social care/science.

Relevant qualifications would include Information Advice and Guidance NVQs, Brokerage Standard, Social Work qualifications or qualifications relating to work with the specific client groups this role will involve. Level 3 or 4 NVQ in Advice & Guidance or equivalent. Fluency in community languages. Community languages may include Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Somali, Vietnamese, Dari, Yoruba, Turkish, French, Spanish, Albanian, Arabic, Bengali, Farsi, Guajarati, Polish, Serbian and Greek (Dependent on programme).
